"Maldhan chour" is situated 19 KM from Ramnagar and 23 KM from Kashipur, having an area around 15 to 20 villages in Ramnagar Block in 'Nainital' District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It has more than 20,000 population. It is also known as Corbett city. Here is very famous dam named as 'Tumariya Dam' which is for irrigation of crop and fishing. Most of the population belongs to the Pahadi and Garwali communities. The literacy rate is low. Most of the employed people work for the government or near by Companies. The primary languages are Pahari, Garwali, Hindi and English. Maldhan was set up by Shri Khusi Ram ji, for resedents of Uttarakhand belonging to Hill region, here is a INTER College named as KHUSI RAM INTER COLLEGE. Maldhan consists villages like Chandra Nagar as No.1, Adarsh nagar as No.2, Gautam nagar as No.5, Purani Basti, Nayi Basti, Kumugadar, Patrani etc. this village is surrounded by Garhinegi and Hathidanger. CM Harish Rawat gave a promise to make a Degree College in Maldhan chour, till now students are going to Ramnagar and Kashipur for study, many students studying in good colleges like some in Halwani(MBBS), in IIIT ALLAHABAD.
